Keywords: Autodial/Dialling directory/Autoredial/2400/external Message-ID: <3107@ficc.uu.net> Date: 15 Feb 89 18:41:24 GMT Organization: Xenix Support Lines: 24 Is there a cheap modem (under $200) with the following capabilities: 2400 baud external modem. Reliable. Dialling directory (at least 10 numbers). Auto-redial on busy. Dialling directory redials. Hayes compatibility is pretty much irrelevant. The modem is going to be on a dumb terminal, so the more user-friendly the better. I purchased a Tailyn 2400 baud modem, because it was the only one I could find with a dialling directory in it. Unfortunately, the dialling directory doesn't redial on busy. Also, the modem seems to have trouble recognising a carrier... though it could just be that I have a lemon. I'm sending the modem back to them for testing, and if there's nothing physically wrong with it I'm getting a refund. In the mean time, can anyone suggest where I should look next? -- Peter da Silva, Xenix Support, Ferranti International Controls Corporation.
