The --**-Emacs:----- line jumps up the screen very slowly, then it eventually scrolls back down and fills in the changed info on the screen. I can see why it would do this: On older serial (9600 baud) terminals it would be faster to try and use escape sequences to move lines around the screen then to redraw the same line in a new position. But, on the color SUNs the scroll routines are much slower than the character draw routines. Is there a mode I can set, or documented change to the source code to fix this problem?
