I'm having similar problems with emacs ... when trying to scroll more
than one line, and less than one page (or window-height) emacs throws
the mode line, and everything below it, up the screen, and then
inserts the new text. Unfortunately, for some reason when it's trying
to insert the new text, it garbles it, and throws me into an
incremental search. I suspect this is something to so with C-s and C-q
being used for flow control.
  I've observed this behaviour on adm3e-br's and tvi's connected to
Sun 3s and Sun 4s. What can I as a user do to fix this, and what
should I tell my super-user to do (sensible suggestions only :-)
