  I have some source code (written in C [what else !!]) that you may 
find intersting.  It allows the user to input the location and 
refection coeff. of galss balls in 3-space and then oouputs a datafile 
with x-y coordinates and a gre-scale number. Unfortunately the program 
does not completely work and It was specifically designed to run on a a 
hp system with UNIX.  Still interested ?
