I am looking for an explanation of the syntax and semantics of
multidot procedure and function calls. 

(1) The brief explanation in the 
book (_Object-oriented_Software_Construction_) is insufficient.
(2) Older references to the language do not even mention them.
(3) I don't have access to an Eiffel environment.

Thanks very much. It may be useful for replies to go to the net
for others who are curious about Eiffel. If not, I'll piece
together whatever I get and post.
