(Yes, the first character after the double percent disappears... not one of the percents, meaning I have to muck with the source to print some extra garbage to get the right thing... yuck.) I was also surprised when the first 'distilling' also *prints* the document... this wasn't clear from your documentation (I was expecting a simple translation pass, not a print).
