This is much more of a pain. With the present method, I can encrypt *part* of a message and read such messages without leaving elm - even temporarily. It seems to me that leaving the present method in elm does no harm, if you don't want to use it or you can't use it - then there are alternatives outside of elm, but if you can - currently it is very convenient - and surely that's what it is all about and why we are all looking at this news group and not one on ucbmail or binmail etc.. But there may be an alternative - some time ago someone mentioned the RFC 822 header "Encrypted".
