With the advent of a growing base of public domain drivers it now makes sense for Wollongong to support the packet driver specification. I propose that a clearing house for public domain packet drivers be created. It would allow for the easy dissemination of new drivers via anonymous ftp and for each contributing organization to support a greater variety of interfaces in their own distributions. In his posting Russ Nelson had offered to distribute any packet driver sent to Clarkson; I would imagine that he would be interested in maintaining such a clearing house. If not, it could be set up at Wollongong. As Wollongong's contribution to this clearing house, we will put in the public domain each of our drivers as they are converted to conform to the packet driver specification. This list currently includes 3Com's 3c500, 3c503, 3c505 and 3c523, MICOM's NI5010, Western Digital's WD8003, Proteon's P1300, the BICC4110, a SLIP interface, and our IP over NetBIOS and IP over IPX interfaces. leo j mclaughlin iii The Wollongong Group ljm@twg.com
