When I use malloc(1024) often enough to get a pointer to 0x254ef, I find I can write 0x080 to it, but always get a return of 0x00. I think I have to replace one of the 256x1 drams. Can anyone give me a hint on which chip I have to replace and maybe some directions on how to replace the chip. I am not totally inexperienced in soldering, but then again I could use some technical advice. Would it be advisable to insert a socket or is just piggybacking with disconection of the data pins a good solution. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Wim Letzer.
