Yes there are you could purchase ProLine, which is a UNIX like system for the apple //. If you look carefully at some peoples addresses you will notice that they are sending messages from a proline site. Morgan Davis wrote proline and he can be reached on the net here. Also the authors of GBBS are planing on putting out a program called MultiPro which is a networked version of GBBS, and i think it will also allow you to communitated with proline sites and usenet sites.
