I have seen 30 meg hard drives from Cirrus for under $600 in Macworld.

These are rugged SCSI drives, but they were designed for the Mac. Is there any
reason why they wouldn't work on a gs? and Would a CMS SCSI card do the job?
Apple's SCSI card is not standard and I'm afrai things may go haywire mixing
different brands together...
