A few questions...

This went around a while back (or was it in the ST group)...  I would
like to exchange ASCII files between the 8-bit and a PC.  Is this
possible?  I have a 1050 and an XF551.

Also... I read that using the paddles in quick-scan mode as opposed to
normal involves just setting a bit in one register.  It is really that
simple?
