While a quality sequencer is of great value to many musicians, a convincing and workable NOTATING system is the hunt of many. A system which provides 64 track sequencing with real-time notation with real-time editing with real-time midi automated mixing and leaves you with 708K of RAM at boot-up time on a 1040ST... is called NOTATOR, the notation upgrade for C-LAB. Virtually any possible editing that can be done, can be done real-time. Both midi info and notation may be displayed simultaneously. As a matter of fact, you can play and record while watching your quantized score print to the screen! The print out, though not laser yet, is very 24-pin professional. I purchased my 1040ST in June of '86 specifically for my music studio, as i make my living teaching and performing... Having spent too many dollars on illogically-conceived programs, i was ready to give up on the idea... but along came NOTATOR, reason alone to buy an ST if you're a musician. Frankly, music software available on the MAC and IBM rather pale in comparison.... Those interested in more information about NOTATOR, MIDI-STUDIO, HYBRID-ARTS EZ-Score and DR.T's and MUSIC STUDIO may contact me.. .. i've tried them all kevin a360ad@blake.acs.washington.edu
