Again, i have no problem when i get an FTP file that is ONE file complete....I get a hernia trying to cat SPLIT files and uudecode, download and de-arc them. Typical errors are "bad header... skipping (n) bytes "... where the docs look fine but the program crashes. I should think there is a simple solution. However, i have tried uudecoding both before and after concatenation. In most cases, the splits have an "include " at the end of each part. So it seems that all one would need do is run uudecode on part one... and theoretically the remaining parts should should be fed through the program. In every case, uudecode only decodes the first file.... so i end up emacsing each file... catting them etc.... this never works. The university is running BSD.4.3. I am using XMODEM in GULAM (1.02.04.05) on a 1040ST. UUD.ttp works fine on UUE'd files (split). But because most FTP files are UUDECODED, i get but to stare at some incredible resources. Please, someone offer an explicit desription of the appropriate procedure. Much thanks in advance. kevin a360ad@blake.acs.washington.edu * am I the only one with this problem ? *
