Specifically, we need to detect the edges of a wave we read in real-time and take action based on the edge detection. The wave can last for up to 100 millsecs in time. What I'd like to know is if this is possible under hp-ux 6.21? We have found that the timer tics on the basic workstation were interfering with our measurement (causing us to miss an edge event), So we simply masked off interrupts. Can this be done under hp-ux? What are the possible problems? Will this cause the system to crash? Will this cause the system to lose clock tics? Help? Anyone?
