According to the Byte review, it's VERY fast, but the built-in software is poorly designed and buggy, and the screen hinges are prone to breakage. Hence, durability is a concern. What are the differences between the EL and the new EL-2 model ? I'm also concerned about the screen's ease-of-use, as I have problems with eye fatigue working with a regular amber monitor. Lastly, would something like DESKLINK allow me to use the drives in my desktop PC from the NEC ? (I believe that DESKLINK provides a two-node LAN via the serial ports ... simple file-transfer is of limited use to me). I will summarize E-mail replies to the net.
