I found the Ratinal DOS/16M is rather steep in price for our purpose. At the end I chose the OS/286 from A.I. Architect. They have a better pricing structure (at least for evaluation) and the big plus is that there is a OS/386 for 386 boxes if we choose to take advantage of features in 386 machines. I am very satisfied with the product. Their support is fairly good (at least much better than that from Microsoft) but I would like to have a more senior tech person on the other end. However, the tech support did try to get more help from others within the company and called me back. One thing that (mildly) p*ssed me is that there was a free upgrade and the upgrade noticed was lost in the mail. When I learnt about it from the tech support, it was after their deadline and they wanted to charge me for the upgrade. Another thing is that they listed Sperry machines are compatible but it does not run properly (keyboard I/O kept hanging the system even with the latest BIOS) without the TOUCHDOWN device from A.I.Architect. Disclaimer: I am just a satisfied customer and am not related to A.I.Architect in any way. Peter Yeung -- Peter K.H. Yeung, Geac Computer Corp.
