Chin) Newsgroups: comp.sys.ibm.pc Subject: Re: Epson FX286e problem Message-ID: Date: 19 Feb 89 02:38:36 GMT Organization: Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 28 Marvin: First try turning on the printer WITHOUT the printer cable attached. If the same problem occurs, call an Epson service center. If you need to know of one; here is the company I work for during the summer (and they are an Epson Service Center): Micro Computer Systems 250 West 54th Street New York, New York 10019 (212) 247-0420 and ask for Al or Tony in Tech. Support and tell them that Johnny sent you. If the problem doesn't occur, you could either have a defective printer port on the computer (most likely), or a bad cable (usually not the case, unless the connectors on the ends are bad or its been sitting on a heater). I hope this helps. You can use these steps to diagnos any printer. If you still have problems let me know. -- J. Chin (a.k.a.
