If you wait until the light comes on first, it goes out. I assume that this is merely annoying. BUT, I have had a problem (once, then couldn't recreate it) where I printed a FreeHand 2 document, and the printer "spooled up" to the high-pitched whine it has...and stayed there. Thirty seconds and the paper still hadn't come through. It had been sucked down to the first stop--where it can pause for as long as 5 seconds at times--but it went no farther.
