I'm thinking of just inserting padding into the TE record after the TAB (enough spaces to make TAB work for monospaced characters); this is probably OK for my application even though it'll look stupid for proportionally-spaced fonts. Even this brute-force approach promises to be a pain to implement. Anyone got any ideas or code? By the way, I'm ready for "C" Trans* 2.0 whenever it's ready for me ...
