If your machine crashes/runs out disk space in the middle of a save, you get your file in a consistant state, although it may not be the most recent copy. I understand the constraints of trying to build a small, affordable machine, but I'll be glad when Apple and other micros catch up to at least the 1970's in operating system technology.
