                        University of Liverpool

                   Symposium: Transputers in Action

                   Monday 3 April 10.00am -- 5.00pm
                 (coffee and registration from 9.00am)

       Price: L40.00 to include lunch and copies of lecture material

       Venue: University Lecture Room Building, Brownlow Hill, Liverpool

This symposium provides an opportunity to hear about current live applications
of transputers in commerce and industry. A broad range of areas will be
covered, including:
        Engineering Modelling   Process Control         Fluid Dynamics
        Computer Aided Design   Image Processing        Robotics
Speakers will include:
    Professor A. Hey, Southampton University
        `Scientific Applications of Transputers'
    Dr D. Fincham, Keele University and Daresbury Laboratory,
        `Molecular Dynamics'
    Professor P. Dew, Leeds University
        `Visualisation of CSG objects: an exercise in parallel program design'
    Dr R. Deam, CEGB
        `Transputers in welding'
    Dr P. Terry, Smith Associates Ltd.
        `Fault-Tolerant Computing'
There will also be a number of contributed papers.
