Lines: 10 A friend wants me to make a power supply for a car audio system. The amplifiers need about +/- 30V at about 3A. Is the best (only?) way to do this to make a switched mode power supply. I have been told these are not recommended for use with audio systems. The supply must run off the 12V car battery (i.e. no other batteries allowed). Anyone have any ideas?
