A quick question to those in the know out there ....
*if* we were able to launch a shuttle from Vandenberg tomorrow, and
if it were to assume a polar orbit, would the initial direction of
launch carry it north or south from Vandenberg? Or can we launch in
both directions (obviously not at the same time :-) )

I would appreciate any input although I may not be able to answer
directly ...
