The problem was easily located: it works when I boot without loading the Finnish keyboard driver (and try to guess where is what on the keyboard). OK, this could be called a bug in the keyboard driver, but I've encountered similar problems before and they weren't very hard to fix, given the source. SPS.DOC says source should have been included, but it wasn't. If somebody has it and would e-mail it to me I'd be grateful.
