Has anyone discovered a DOS based application for translating raster files
of .GIF or .TIF to a format that would be intelligible to AutoCAD, such as
.PLT, .SLD, .DWG, .DXF etc.?

I've seen CAD Overlay which creates a background that can be used to "trace
over" to create a new drawing, but no direct convresion routines.  I realize
this would create a large file, but even so, a conversion utility would be
very useful.
