Has anyone used polyglot's lisp compiler?

What are your experiences?

specifically :

1. is the C code portable?
2. how full is the lisp interpreter?
3. how is the speed of compiled code 
	(vs, for instance franz on a vax 11/70, lucid on a SUN 4/110)
