We seem to be having a little (:-) ) trouble with file permissions on ST minix. Binaries which would conventionally be mode 0711 (rwx--x--x) on a Unix system have to be mode 755 (rwxr-xr-x) before they can be run; why is this so? More to the point is there a quick fix for it. Is there anyone else out there who's used ST minix enough to have come across this? We've tried this on two machines. Same results- binaries have to have the r bits on. THIS IS WRONG!!!!
