I've seen enough junk float by here to know that the folks in PC/ST land won't think to cross-post their changes. (Of course, those changes are probably worthless anyway, if they're so un-professional as think in such machine dependant terms.) So, my vote is to keep things as they are. (Good Conservative Policy, eh?) Because of the nature of my newsfeed, I would like to see a split between general discussion and source/diff/binary postings, but that could become inconvient too. I would also like to ask folks to put a curb on the binary postings. (uuencoding squeezed tar files is fine, tho.) Making the binaries available for FTP or BITNET file transfer is fine, and those folks on the end of primitive networks can always ask for a kindly soul to send a binary through e-mail. Anyway, the bandwidth I want to conserve is human bandwidth. I don't give a damm about machine bandwidth, but if there's more postings (and fixes to postings and fixes to fixes to postings, aiiieee!) then *SOMETHINGS* *WRONG*. --- Richard Conto Internet: Richard_Conto@um.cc.umich.edu rsc@merit.edu BITNET (gag) USERW014@UMICHUM (.bitnet) University of Michigan Merit Computer Network Computing Center (UMnet)
