     As part of a product evaluation I am gathering information about
scanners and OCR systems.  The intended use is for inputting data into 
Videotex infobases.  We anticipate that most input documents will be from 
catalogues or manuals - possibly some from magazines and newspapers also.
Our primary interest is in text input, but information regarding graphics
processing is also welcome. 

     Below is a list of some specific areas on which I would like
information:

     1. Experience with particular systems - pros, cons, level of use,
	    type of application
     2. Cost
     3. Features to look for or avoid
     4. Sources of additional information
     5. Recent technological developments

Please don't feel constrained by this list.  Any information will be 
appreciated.
