I have a 40 Meg Hard Drive, with two FFS partitions of 20 Meg per shot. One of them recently died on me (I don't really know why), but it seems that the crash was not extensive. Mount refuses to install the drive, claiming it is not a DOS disk. I ran both DiskDoctor and DiskSalv on that partition. DiskDoctor seems to listed/recoverd all the files correctly, but mount still refuses to mount the drive (ie. I can't copy the files over). I then tried DiskSalv (v1.3), which proceeded to list them filenames as it scans the sectors, but always causes a software failure at cerntain point (ie. Gurus like crazy). So this is what I think. The files on that partition are recoverable, if I can just get 'mount' to install the drive correctly. But I need help in making that Partition a "dos" disk. Any offers ??? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- hpchang@rose.waterloo.{edu,cdn} Hsi P.
