  Has anybody ever thought about the prospect of making the keyboard
in the Amiga 500 detatched?  I was thinking about removing it from
the main unit and connecting it, via 8-wire ribbon cabling, to the
main unit, with a cable of just a few feet in length.  I could then
cover the hole left in the 500 case with a metal sheet to block RF
interference.  Then, I could build a simple housing for the keyboard,
and, walla! My space problems at my desk, caused by the awkward housing
of the 500, would be solved.  I could even leave it sideways so I can get
to the disk drive more easily.

  Does this seem unusually dangerous to anybody?  Has anyone tried it?
or is there something tricky I must keep in mind?  I would greatly
appretiate any knowledgeable information.   Thanks!
