I finally settled on Kyan Pascal and KIX. I've been using them both on my expanded //c with a 20 Meg hard disk for several years now. The advantage of KIX is that it is a true operating system, and works very much like UNIX (R). The Kyan version of Pascal allows you to compile both library dependant BIN files and independant SYSTEM files. They also allow embedded assembly code which neatly takes care of any limitations inherent in Pascal (many!). Normally I prefer C. But for the Apple, there just wasn't one good enough. KIX works only on ProDOS systems. You cannot use it with DOS 3.3. I avoided this problem by simply not buying any DOS 3.3 software :-) Rudy
