I just talked to Steve at Var-Tech (312 810 1777) and got more
information on the 7300's they are offering.  What he said:

    7300, 1 meg ram, 20 meg hard disk, 3.51 Unix, $649

They're expecting, well..., a *lot* of machines to arrive on Monday
and Tuesday, and he said they'd start shipping as soon as they could
set them up and test them.

The whole story on the way these machines get distributed might be
interesting.  Apparently part of their deal getting them is that they
have to burn them in, for 48 hours.  They can't sell to other vendors.
They *can* ship overseas.

I have no connection with these vendors, etc.  Well, actually, I want
lots of people to buy these machines, so we can have a still bigger
and more active user's group 8^).
