As far as I am concerned, the Step 286/12 is a very solid computer and it is plenty fast! In case you didn't know, the Step 286/12 comes with Everex's hard disc cache driver and a RAM disc driver, both of which perform quite well. Also, I'm very pleased with the hard disc controller that comes with the computer. I would definitely recommend the Step 286/12 (you might want to look at the Step 286/16).
