I've noticed some problems with dvieps and dvie72 (low res version) as
well.  dvieps will print out reasonably well, but only about 6 inches
across a page.  dvie72 would print out across an entire page, but seemed
to be in double-width mode.  I managed to alter the source code so that
dvie72 works reasonably well.  The problem with dvieps only printing part
of a page seems to be a memory problem, and I didn't have the patience
to try to track it down.

You might try compiling the source code.  I might be convinced to make
available my patches to dvie72 (if I can remember/find the patches I made).

There is a version for the Epson LQ printers.  Someone sent me a copy in
a shell archive, and I haven't had time (yet) to extract it.  Also, I
don't have an LQ printer, and so couldn't actually check it out.
