You can only mix RLL and MFM controllers if and only if (correct me if I'm
wrong) you can designate one of them as the SECONDARY hard drive controller.

There maybe a jumper or a switch that allows you to change it from PRIMARY to
SECONDARY controller.  Check the documentation for each controller.

I don't guarantee that it will work, but I believe it may.
