Green) Newsgroups: comp.sys.ibm.pc Subject: Problem with 3.5" floppy drive in drive 1 Keywords: 3.5" help Message-ID: <541@kl-cs.UUCP> Date: 8 Mar 89 17:38:18 GMT Organization: University of Keele, England Lines: 29 I have just installed a 3.5" floppy drive as drive 1 on my AT clone (Beltron) I also have a 1.2MB floppy in drive 0, a 20MB and a 40 MB hard disk. The Problem: It works ok both as 720KB and 1.44MB for a while, then I get Divide Overflow and I have to reboot the computer before I can use the drive. I also use my system with Uport System V/AT. The drive works with that for a while, but soon I get "Channel number out of range" on which ever drive is not mounted. This is basically the same problem I think The controller card is a WD1003-WA2, with no previous problems. If anyone has any ideas could they please e-mail me at one of the addresses in my signature NOT by the return path of this posting ... I get enough hassle here about the cost of UUCP traffic as it is :-( and the Internet gateway through nss.cs.ucl.ac.uk is free :-)). Thanks for any help. -- |Michael A.
