Summary: opinions, please on best ones (installation, speed, compatibility, etc) Message-ID: <9833@louie.udel.EDU> Date: 28 Feb 89 21:20:15 GMT Reply-To: garrett@udel.EDU (Joel Garrett) Distribution: usa Organization: University of Delaware Lines: 29 I have been out of circulation on this newsgroup lately, so I apologize if I am digging up an old (possibly religious) topic. I am helping to put together a requisition for purchasing some Mac IIx systems for running both Mac O/S and also A/UX What 3rd party large hard disks (over 100MB) are out there and are compatible with A/UX? I realize from reading old news postings that with a certain degree of tweaking, that a lot of disks out there can be made to work - the partition manager (whatever and wherever that is - A/UX, Mac, Hard disk, etc) seems to have caused some of these problems. What recommendations do you all make? The apple drives make compatibility a moot point, but just how much work is involved in getting other peoples' drives to work with A/UX? How do the drives on the market compare pricewise, access time, MB/$, installation/compatibility? If there has been a recent thread on this topic, does anyone have a saved copy of it that they could send to me? At any rate, if you're on the internet, please mail your replies to: garrett@udel.edu Thank you for your help! Joel Garrett
