After replacing my System file following the crash described in an
earlier posting, I noticed that the CompareForks utilty ran properly
under Multifinder, but, when run under Finder, caused a system alert
message with ID=01.

I couldn't find a list of system halt codes with my Apple
documentation.  Where can I find these?  I can't believe there isn't
a text file somewhere in the net that lists error numbers and their
associated reasons.  I've checked SUMEX.  There's a desk accessory
that will display error codes, but there doesn't appear to be a
plain text file.
