Ok, what's the scoop?  Will system 7 be only for the SE/30, II, and IIx/cx?

I just bought an SE (just before apple dropped their prices and began
the rebate thing here in canada) ASSUMING (stupid me) that it wouldn't
be left behind for a while.

Silly anthropology student... 

Am I going to be going the way of the "plus" (huh?  didn't we drop that...?)
sooner than I thought, but a whole lot heavier (lugging the thing arround
ain't no treat I found out) and a LOT noisier?
