I am running a Sun 3/160 with a Ciprico controller and an ALM-2 running
SunOS 4.0.1 with ALM-2 patches dated Tue Aug 23 16:32:31 PDT 1988 (the
string "yapt 4.0" appears in the binaries).  I am still having a problem
where the ALM-2 will go into "history" mode, i.e. you type a character (or
several) and a significant amount of time passes before an response (and
then it responds to several characters at a time).  The only fix for this
seams to be to reboot the system.

Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?
