Is f.title obsolete in the new version of awm that came over comp.sources.x?

It used to work fine under the R2 awm but now awm bombs when I try to
use f.title in my .awmrc.

Can someone suggest an alternate way for me to get  a title bar in my
xterm session?

Relevant info:
		new version of awm
		X11R3, patchlevel 7 + Purdue+ 1.0 (GCC 1.31)
		Sun 3/50 OS 3.5
