Hewlett Packard now markets a product called SoftPC, running on either their series 300 workstations or their series 800 computers, which emulates an 8086 in software; it puts up a window under X11 and currently supports monochrome and CGA, and an HPIB 5.25" drive. The software was written by Insignia Solutions, and I think it is also available for other hardware platforms as well. -bruce Well, I don't normally offer a disclaimer, but this time I'd better: These opinions are mine alone, not necessarily my employer's. I work for HP and have used their version of SoftPC but am not directly connected with that effort or with Insignia Solutions at all.
