May I just add my complete agreement with the above sentiments.
With many PCs and a UNIX system to look after, I'm much more interested
in a program that runs well in many environments than with marginal
improvements in speed or compression.
Doubtless others have differing views, but in zoo we have something
approaching a 'standard'. Why do we have to keep changing?
