My Telebit doesn't like just one system! Message-ID: <774@twwells.uucp> Date: 13 Mar 89 07:38:25 GMT Reply-To: bill@twwells.UUCP (T. William Wells) Organization: None, Ft. Lauderdale Lines: 24 Expires: References: Sender: Followup-To: Keywords: It's really wierd. My Telebit talks at 9600 to proxftl and uunet. But it won't talk to novavax. All use the same setup. To add to the confusion, if I take my Telebit over to proxftl and call novavax, it works! So I tried bringing it back here and installing the modem parameters used at proxftl. Nope! I tried using a different phone line from my system; that made no difference either. What happens is that novavax whistles at my modem and mine whistles back, but they never connect. I talked to a guy over at Telebit; he had me fiddle with a register which is supposed to make the modem more tolerant to line noise. That didn't help either. I tried connecting to his modem. That worked fine! I've been completely unable to make sense of this behavior. Any ideas before I ship the modem back to Telebit? --- Bill { uunet | novavax } !twwells!bill (BTW, I'm going to be looking for a new job sometime in the next few months. If you know of a good one, do send me e-mail.)
