OK, Mike Trout, you believe that vi, troff, nroff and their kin
are obsolete.  I'm inclined to agree with you, except for vi.

But please enlighten us:  What should we be using?  What meets with
your approval?  What measures up to the 80's?  What do we do next
year when the 80's become obsolete?  What will those in the know
be using in the 90's?  What was the point of your note?
