The two that you need to swap out are pins 2 & 3. I recommend doing this before thrashing any further. I do not supect your computer is damaged, rather the pinouts or the software incompatability. Try that and see what happens. One other idea, if you have another machine. Hook the two together thru the serial ports and see if you can see what the Vector is sending out the port.
