We just hooked three model 70's (DOS) to an Ethernet. We used IBM's TCP/IP software. The only card which this software supports on a microchannel machine is the Ungermann-Bass NICps/2 card. This card in turn connects only to a thick wire Ethernet, and ours is thinwire. We had to use DESTA's from Digital to convert a thickwire tranceiver cable to a thinwire connector. It all seems to work fine. I think some other TCP/IP implementations support a much broader set of cards than does IBM's for microchannel machines.
