It seems to work OK on SunOS 3.5.  Pipes don't work at all on any version
of Ultrix (`ls | cat' gives the error "cat: bad file number" or something
to that effect).  I haven't had time to look deeply into it yet; if I do,
and I fix it, I'll post fixes somewhere.
